So This is Goodbye
I really liked the format of the class. The lectures accompanied by a Power Point actually helped me learn the material in the first review of the material. I also liked how we were quizzed regularly then had a unit test. It allows for us to test our knowledge the first time and then actually consolidate the information the second time. This blog project was my favorite project or activity because I could discuss topics that I found interesting while also learning a lot about psychology and myself. I didn't like how some of the time was spent over some topics that didn't need further expanding on. I also don't think that we spent enough time on the ending unit such as the drugs when in reality, we should have learned more about it. For next year, I think you should leave out the jigsaw teaching activity for behavioral disorders because a lot of people only knew what they taught and had difficult learning everything else. So I think teaching it normally would be more effective in retaining the information. I would suggest having next year's class do something like "What Would You Do?" Whether it's a script or a video, they should have to take an aspect from psychology and apply it to a social situation. I really liked having the regular quizzes and then one or two unit tests because it made retaining the information easier and you could also see your results more easily. My advice for future students is that they should do their vocab in order to prepare for the AP. But if they are doing the vocab for the grade, then they would be better off not doing so and studying for the actual quizzes. I hope everyone taking it has fun next year!
